Aufgabe
Ein neues Dachgeschoss in ökologischer Holzbauweise "natürlich" mit 13 Zimmern und einer Suite

The attic in the west wing of the “Hotel & Restraurant zur Post“ in Aschheim got 13 new guest rooms, which were built from solid wood elements in ecological and sustainable ways. The pre-fabricated wooden walls and roof elements were delivered to the construction site and assembled piece by piece. This dry and light construction method prevented the existing building from damage and could be realised in a short period of time. Because of the layered, highly insulated buildup of the exterior walls, the new building has very good insulation data, similar to the “passive house standard“.The decision to use innovative hightech woodwork improves the CO2 balance of the entire building.

The expansion of the room is defined by natural materials such as oiled wood floors and clay walls. An integrated wall heating system produces comfortable radiant heat, known from tile stoves, which no longer produces any convection, making it allergy friendly. Air conditioning was conciously neglected, because the clay walls add to an excellent indoor temperature by taking in and releasing ambient air humidity and warmth. The bathrooms are openly affiliated with the bedrooms by glass screens and designed in modern style. Showers levelled with the floor and high-quality ceramic create an ideal addition to the cozy living and sleeping area. The new rooms invite you to relax and be comfortable.
