Mix is a F&B outlet in city’s prime commercial space run by the Mandarin Oriental Guangzhou, China. Designers have fully utilised and unfolded the limited 50 square metres of elongated interior space and created a high-end “grab-and-go” breakout space suffused with the Hotel’s luxurious elegance.

A translucent shop front door with two thematic curved handles and a glowing logo placed on a horizontal metallic stripe opens onto an immaculate wood-look tiled floor and further extend through the entire space. The overall spatial experience is enriched by focal elements within: a dynamic counter, a fluid wall with TV and shelves, asymmetrical aerial lighting rings and a series of high tables. When combining with simple, vibrant and youthful furniture, quality of the materials and essence of the space are highlighted.

The entire space is completely opened up through the use of full-height windows. The adjacent wall and ceiling join to create a single unique surface. Light and fresh coloured vertical stripes extend the surface to create dynamic tension with outside. The fluid, dynamic sculpture at shopfront becomes centre of attention.

Huge column is visually concealed by a full-height mirror unfolding the space and multiplies both seating area and view of the city.
