The ANSAN Office + project is located on the top floor of a modern building in Shaoxing, where the ANSAN Hotel is located. The Greater Dog Architects design an office for the ANSAN hotel management team on the top floor, which is mainly used for reception, ne-gotiation, office, and leisure. Therefore, the designer trying to create an office and recep-tion space with hotel quality, showcasing the ANSAN team's pursuit of hotel brand de-tails through a space with a sense of quality.
Regarding the design concept, the Greater Dog team did not regard the hotel and office as two contradictory spaces, but rather as a solution: the integration of hotel texture and office functionality. From reception space to dining space to leisure space, and then to the office area. The designer uses the public traffic line of the open circular corridor and landscape corridor to connect different functional requirements in the space, and thus efficiently reach different spatial scenarios.
CALM & TEXTURED
Taking the hotel's internal lift to the top floor, the warm light in the lift lobby marks the beginning of the entire hotel-style office setting. Prada green marble is widely used in public spaces, cleverly combined with bronze matte metal, warm wood, and soft indi-rect lighting to create a comfortable, calm, low-key, and elegant space atmosphere.
The circular foyer which is reached through a slender corridor, is the intersection of multiple functional spaces. The open functional layout allows dynamic and static scenes to interweave, forming a waiting and communication space on this floor. The circular foyer creates a multi-directional "transportation centre" to strengthen the connection between different spaces.
The dining space and leisure area are entered from the left and right sides of the circular foyer, where people can conduct business activities and enjoy the leisure fun of private banquets and wine tasting. As an extension of the hotel's public functions, they combine the characteristics of the hotel's supporting functions and are open to staff and the public to achieve maximum space utilisation.
The dining space continues the texture of the space, adding more wooden details and matching them with black and white patterned wallpaper, combining the reverence, pri-vacy, and social attributes of banquets with the comfort and elegance of public areas.
The leisure area adopts indirect light and materials of the same colour scheme, bringing a more peaceful and comfortable atmosphere to the space. Meanwhile, the restroom con-tinues the material tone of the public area, forming an overall visual effect of different spaces.
COMFORT & ELEGANCE
The semi-arc corridor is combined with the outdoor courtyard, which integrates the characteristics of indoor and outdoor spaces. The application of outdoor strip bricks on the ground and the opening and closing of multiple sets of pivot doors realise the free transformation between outside and inside, bringing an outdoor-like aerial courtyard experience. One side of the wall integrates entrance doors to six individual offices, with wooden lattice and doors made of the same colour material, creating the overall integri-ty of the space. The clean vertical lines bring delicate rhythm changes to elevation in the corridor.
The individual office space integrates multiple functions such as an office, negotiation area, tea table, display bar, etc. Interpret the style of office space from both functional and aesthetic perspectives. In terms of space, the precise use of rich materials such as metal, stone, wood, leather, and fabric, combined with the rich layers of grey-brown in different shades on the furniture, enhances the sensory experience of modern and high-quality office spaces.
The subtle light outside the window flows into the room, and a gentle breeze passes through the hanging blinds, allowing light and shadow to freely shuttle through them. The delicate sense of light not only brings a more primitive beauty to the space but also adds a touch of relaxation to daily office life. Here, the space guides the ANSAN team to comfortably handle the daily affairs of the hotel in various spaces.
