Rocco S K Yim
Rocco Yim founded his own practice in 1979, and was one of the co-founders of Rocco Design Partners in 1982.The firm has received many local and international awards and citations for design excellence since its inception and has won its first international competition in 1983. Under his stewardship in design, the firm has grown significantly over the years both in size and reputation. Rocco has been actively involved in dialogues with the cultural and architectural communities both local and overseas. His emphasis on design excellence and social responsibility has become very much the firm’s aspiration for the future. Rocco Yim is at present Principal of Rocco Design Architects Associates.
C M Chan
C M Chan joined the firm in 1989 and became Associate Director in 1994, Director in 1998, and Executive Director from 2018. He has over thirty years of experience in project management and has been in charge of the large-scale award-winning projects of the firm since the Citibank Plaza in the early years, and subsequently the Hong Kong Station with its integrated development IFC through the span of a decade. He has also been representing the Hong Kong Institute of Architects in various advisory committees of the HKSAR Government since 2000, and was the Chairman of the Buildings Committee of the Institute from 2007-2008. He is currently a member of the Architects Registration Board.
Derrick K L Tsang
Derrick Tsang joined Rocco Design Architects in 1996 after studying Architecture at University of Dundee and the Royal College of Art, and became a Director in 2012 and an executive director in 2018. He is responsible for design management and business development of projects in Mainland China. His select work experience includes the award winning IFC and Hong Kong Station Development, Hong Kong Four Seasons Hotel, Guangdong Museum, Yunnan Museum, W Guangzhou Hotel and a number of landmarks in Shenzhen including the Baoan Cultural Complex (Library, Youth Centre, Performance Centre), Qianhai Exchange Square, a mixed-use commercial development in Shekou and a suburban regeneration project for an art village in Shapu.
Vincent C K Chan
Executive Financial Director
Vincent Chan has been an Executive Financial Director of the Company since Jan 2018. He joined the Company in 2005 and has been a Chief Operating Officer since June 2007. He is a fellow of the Certified Practicing Accountants in Australia, The Chartered Management Institute and The Chartered Institute of Marketing. He is also a member of The Chartered Institute of Bankers in Scotland, The Chartered Institute for Securities and Investment, The Chartered Quality Institute and The Chartered Institute of Public Relations. He holds a Master’s degree in Business Administration (Chartered Banker) and a Master’s degree in Business Administration. He is currently the Head of the Finance and Management and senior management of the Company. He possesses over 20 years of experience in finance and business operation.
Freddie T T Hai
Freddie Hai graduated from the University College London and is professionally qualified in both Hong Kong and the UK. He returned to the company in 2007 and becomes a Director in 2018. He has since been Project Team Leader for a number of high profile projects, such as the Hong Kong Palace Museum, Kerry Hotel Hong Kong, and China Unicom (HK) Global Center. His past experience includes No.1 Peking Road, the IFC, and several stations along the West Rail. He is also active in the local architectural and institute matters and has been appointed for several committee posts by the government.
Charles S C Kung
Charles Kung graduated in HKU and joined the firm in 1997. He brings expertise spanning both detail design development and project management and has been the team leader in various projects across Hong Kong and China. He has extensive experience in managing complex projects with diverse stakeholder inputs, which includes IFC development, hotel ICON and the Central Police Station Conservation and Revitalization Project. He has been a member of the Building and Lands Committee of HKIA since 2016 and has contributes to every project with his wealth of government liaison knowledge to ensure smooth approval process.
Dennis H M Chan
Dennis Chan joined the firm in 1999 after graduating from the University of Hong Kong. He has been the lead architect for a range of projects. Dennis is currently responsible for design and running of projects as well as assisting the company in business development. His project experience includes several campus buildings in the Chinese University of Hong Kong, large scale residential projects, luxury retreats, high-end residential villas, master layout planning, headquarters buildings and mixed-use developments.
Herbert P Hung
Herbert Hung graduated from the University of Hong Kong and had joined the firm since 2004. He has been the project architect and team leader for a wide range of projects both in Hong Kong and Mainland China. He has over 18 years of project experience in architectural design as well as project implementation. He has worked extensively in complex building projects such as Tamar HKSAR Government Headquarter Development and the East Kowloon Cultural Centre. His other major project experience includes Macau Starworld hotel, Langham Hotel and Apartment Complex in Dalian and Qiangai Exchange Plaza.
Kit-Man practices in Hong Kong since graduated from the University of Hong Kong. She joined the firm in 2011 and has been an Associate Director since 2018. Kit-Man highly focuses on design creation and her portfolio spans across a wide spectrum of projects including master planning, commercial, hotel, private and public residential developments from conception to construction in HK, major cities across PRC and Taiwan. Her outstanding design has secured numerous commissions for the company through winning design competitions over her past years.
